The SPS 2025 trade show in Nuremberg witnessed innovative motor feedback solutions for automation and robotics from HEIDENHAIN, AMO, RENCO and RSF. The new and compact ECI 1116 joined the mutually compatible platform of HEIDENHAIN inductive rotary encoders. Also featured were dual and secondary encoders for greater accuracy in advanced robotics, along with cobot collision monitoring and rotary encoders with built-in vibration analysis.

Energy monitoring and ERP connectivity improve Digital Shop floor efficiency

The HEIDENHAIN StateMonitor software gives users insight into how much energy their machines are consuming. The enhanced energy monitoring function delivers consumption data for power, process water and compressed air, allowing users to identify energy guzzlers and reduce consumption costs. Meanwhile, StateMonitor’s job data interface ensures data consistency across different systems, making important shopfloor data available to higher-level ERP and MES platforms.

Chiplet technology and new mid-end-of-line processes in semiconductor manufacturing have laid the groundwork for artificial intelligence, humanoid robots and self-driving vehicles.
